An award-winning journalist for more than 20 years, Jon Waterhouse describes himself as a pop culture junkie. His byline has popped up in a variety of publications including Esquire, BlackBook, Boy’s Life, Paste and online at MTV.com. Since 2003, Jon’s been contributing regularly to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper.

A majority of the time, he strives to cover the nerdy side of popular culture and entertainment, from music to movies to comic books. And when it comes to travel stories, he typically finds himself writing about destinations with a geektastic slant.

After penning oodles of nerdy travel articles, Jon decided to share his knowledge by helping fellow geeks navigate their own vacations. Nerds On Holiday was born.

When he’s not trekking on mouth-breathing adventures, Jon channels his talents in a variety of other directions. From 2008 to 2014, he served as host, writer and producer of “The Pop Culture King Show” broadcast twice each week on AM 1690 The Voice of the Arts in Atlanta, Ga. The program won the 2013 Georgia Association of Broadcasting Award for Best Long Feature.

Waterhouse’s other broadcast work includes hosting and producing specials for SiriusXM’s Elvis Radio channel. He’s also appeared as a pop culture expert on two public broadcasting programs, including the Telly award-winning documentary “Four Days at DragonCon.”

Elvis Presley Enterprises and Graceland have enlisted Jon to be the official blogger for Elvis Week, the annual gathering of Elvis fans in Memphis, Tenn. He also served as the exclusive promotional writer for Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame act Van Halen from 2007-2012.

Equally comfortable on stage and in front of the camera, Jon also works as an emcee and an actor. Projects have included live action and character voice-over roles for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. His film work runs the gamut from indie flicks to the Marvel blockbuster “Ant-Man.” He also can be seen showing his horns on the Adult Swim comedy "Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell."
